真澄会第１５弾は、ロンビエン区にあるベトナム雑貨の工房にお邪魔して、牛・水牛のアクセサリーを製作しました！

早速、レーザーカットでカットされたパーツとご対面！今回は、ピアスまたはネックレスから１種類、希望のデザインを事前にお願いしていました。パーツは牛または水牛の角からお好きな方をチョイス！（水牛の方が牛に比べて色が白っぽいとのこと）

シンプルなもの、お花モチーフのフェミニンなもの、真澄会ロゴまでデザインは皆それぞれ。細い部分も綺麗に切り出されています。想像通りの形にテンションがあがります！

ここから、手作業のスタートです。紙やすりを使って表面を磨いていきます。使う紙やすりは２枚。１枚目は表面を滑らかにするもの。２枚目は、１枚目より目の細かいもので、艶を出すものです。

作業の途中で、工房のスタッフの方々が進捗をチェックしてくださいます。やすりがけは単純作業ではあるのですが、スタッフの皆さんが意外と厳しく、中々ＯＫが出ませんでした（笑）女子トークにも花を咲かせながら（これも真澄会の醍醐味ですよね♡）、皆さん手は動かし続けていました（えらい）！

今回工房のご厚意で、パーツは２つずつ製作させてただきました。１つは角のナチュラルな色味を楽しむもの、もう一つは色付けを行います。

表面のＯＫが出たものから色を塗らないものは、仕上げの機械磨きへ。仕上げの磨きを加えると、、おおっぴかぴか光っている！売り物のようだ…！！！

ピアスの金具や、ネックレスの紐を通してもらい、完成です！その場で、身に着けて皆さんにっこり。自分で作ったものは、すごく愛着がわきますよね～J もちろん牛・水牛の角は自然なものですので、色は均一ではありません。シンプルなデザインでも、一つ一つ表情が異なりオリジナル感満載です！

さて、ここからは色付けに入ります。手元に残ったパーツの色とみながら、塗る色を決定します。

全部色を塗るも良し、部分的に角の色を残しても良し…色を塗ると、同じ形なのに塗ってないものと全く違う雰囲気になるので、とっても面白い！

色付けしたものは、一日乾かす必要があるので、今日のここで作業はおしまい。パーツたちよ、立派に乾いて磨いてもらうんじゃぞ…という思いで、工房に残して参りました（笑）手元に届くのがとっても楽しみです！！！

 

Enjoy handcrafting original cattle/buffalo horn accessory!

In 15th Masumi-kai event, we made horn accessories at the craft center in Long Bien district.

We chose pierce or necklace, cattle or buffalo,  and submit favorite design of the motif in advance. Usually, buffalo has more white horn than that of cattle. On that day, each part which had been cut off by leaser and already ready.　

Stylish circle, feminine flowered, Masumi-kai’s logo-designed … there were a variety of motifs. The part is perfectly carved out in detail as designed.  It makes us excited!

Now we start hand work. We polish the surface of the horn using two kinds of sand paper. The first paper is to make the surface smooth. The second one has a fine texture and to gloss.

During our polishing, the staffs in craft center check our progress. It seems the procedure of polishing is very simple, however it’s hard to get agreement from the staffs moving to the next step. They are so professional!   We also enjoy girls’ chat, which I think the best part of Masumi-kai, and continue polishing and polishing!

Thanks to the courtesy of the craft center, we can make two parts for each design in this time. We color one of them and leave the other one non-colored, and enjoy the natural color of horns. 

After staff’s go sign, the non-colored part is finishing polished by machine. It becomes so shiny that looks like salable product after the final polish…!!

It completes with hoops for pierce or leather for necklace, We smile wearing our own designed accessory. Of course the horn has natural color … so each horn has a different color and it’s not uniform. Even though the design is simple, it is definitely only one accessory in the world with that horn’s color.  We cannot help feeling affection for our original design!

The other part, we decide the color for painting considering the color of the horn. We can color whole or a part of it. It becomes totally different taste after coloring. It’s interesting.

Regarding the colored parts, we need to wait for a day to be dried.  We hope the part will dry perfectly and be polished. We look really forward to receiving them!
